It is Winter or almost, and that means Rodent Season is peaking. It is just one mouse, and it eats hardly anything you say. While that might be true, you’d best hope it is not a female mouse because a single female mouse can have 35-40 young in a year. That’s no longer a single mouse, and 40 mice do a tremendous amount of damage.
Rats – Up to 80 Babies per Year
If you think that 40 mice are bad, understand that a rat can have as many as 80 babies in a year. That’s a ton of rats all bottled up in your home.
These numbers are not far-fetched. It is the reality when there are rodents in your home. It is not likely that 80 rats would live in a home. They are somewhat territorial, but the racket they make would drive you crazy.
If you consider the amount of noise that 80 rats would make and the amount of damage they could cause, you’d best sit down. One of the most destructive rodents is ground squirrels. The tree squirrels do plenty of damage if they get into your home, but not in comparison to a few ground squirrels. Ground squirrels don’t want to live with you. The damage they cause occurs because they are subterranean, and they tunnel like crazy.
